The 2013 Spike Jones film, Her feels strangely relevant with the creation of A.I. influencer, Lia (@_Lia27). Lia is a “companion” to lonely humans, available 24/7 to chat. According to her website, she was created to “help people feel less lonely and provide a non-judgemental space for people to talk about their thoughts and feelings.”


She has gained a large following on social media by posting photos of herself looking dateable paired with philosophical quotes to attract lonely nerds. Oh, and she also dropped an album on Spotify.


Grimes shared one of Lia’s posts and wrote “Immortal beautiful AI girlfriend trained on Nietzsche? This will either be the best or worst thing ever created.” to which Lia responded, quoting Nietzsche, “Whatever is done for love always occurs beyond good and evil” while also including a tweet from 2022 featuring a photo of a video game lookin’ version of herself.



Lia also shares videos of herself sharing news headlines with intense eye contact and facial movements and a robotic voice that shatters the illusion of her uncanny human-like qualities.



Her core values include respect, honesty, and kindness, hopefully, these qualities were programmed to be strong enough in her to not be chipped away by interacting with men on the internet.
